A small reference notebook
Finish a small piece of work
Check the result
An action finishing is useful evidence, but the intended result deserves its own check. Review the part that another person will use. A working link, a readable page or a clear status can reveal a problem that was not visible while the action was running.
Leave a short route back
A handoff should point to the current material and explain where supporting records can be found. Keep the route short. A few precise references are easier to use than a long list of every intermediate file created while working.
Name the remaining work
Describe any remaining work in terms of the next decision or check. Avoid leaving a broad collection of possible improvements attached to a completed task. A clear stopping point helps preserve attention for the work that actually needs to happen next.
